Have you noticed how moya refers to packets as parcels, does this mean that one day a week we can just deliver the stuff that will go through the letter box. That should save some time for rm

Problem is Fallon has already stated that Billy Hayes is ideologically driven to keep RM public, yet does not see the contradiction in his own actions. He makes no mention of the fact that a foreign owner could ensure that taxes on profit are paid through another country as per google and the rest of the tax dodgers.
Fallon is bent on ensuring privatisation he has already threatened to go to a assest stripper (hedge fund)due to the present ongoing campaign by the Union. mora has already had discussions with pension funds in North America.
Now who is ideologically driven when Fallon and Mora both state that a profitable national asset must be privatised.
Those in power changed the rules to ensure profitability so they could privatise the service! so again who's idelogically driven?
Nearly half a billion quid and they want to sell it, what about keeping it public and using the tax returns on a long term basis?

We were at the roadshow in Edinburgh today and I put that very question to Jon Millidge after becoming completely pissed off at this 'six day uso' being, by implication, touted as valid for both packets (sorry, parcels) and letters.

I pulled him up nicely as his spiel was not correct and my question was in two parts: Firstly, did he agree with my view that it was negligent to fail to negociate with ofcom in the postal services act 2011 a six day uso for parcels AS WELL AS letters? Further, did he agree that this opened the door post privitisation for potential job cuts with a statute for a five day parcel service only?

Taken aback, he failed to answer the former cohesively and the latter was fobbed off as the seven day operation line.

So, who is to blame for the Uso debacle? It seems convenient it covers letters only. Many thanks to the original poster as confirmation via a written answer from the Minister drove the point home- which was to prove to 400 people in the room that TAKE NOTHING at face value. And he is on the board!
