Getting an offer / What to do .

Ive been told to attend a meeting with my head union rep and some managers I don't know at another office next week. ( im on the sick with a damaged knee for 6 weeks now )

Question is this .......... Im expecting an offer for IHR . Will this be it ? And if it IS an offer do I accept or do they low ball you 1st ?

I would be surprised if it's an offer of IHR if you have only been off sick for 6 weeks and normally you have to see the ATOS doctor who then recommends to your boss if IHR is possible.When I left under IHR last September my symptons had been going on for nearly a year and I had at least 6 phone interviews with ATOS and two one to one appointments with them before everything was agreed.When I was finally called in to see my manager the offer made was on condition that I left on the Friday of that week ie:my interview with boss was on Wednesday 26th September and my last day of employment was Friday 28th September.

Also if it is an offer make sure that you check to see if you are still entitled to some annual leave payments and also if you are owed any bank holiday lieu days as this will increase your payoff offer.

If it is an offer and you do leave then I wish you all the best.

I hope it aint an offer and youcan continue to do the job to the best of your ability, i belive that the royal mail procudure on sick etc is one of the worst i have ever seen. Family members dying you get stages, broken bones you get stages, hernia ops you get stages... Very unsympathetic company to work for

likely hood is they will be drawing up a work based plan on how they feel you can get back into work, maybe see a physio... or get you to work indoor office hours or light duties. Wont be an offer, iv seen folk off for months with depression etc and they dont get offeres that quickly.

Its my 2nd time off with the same injury ( done in work ) and ive told them I will be having surgery this time and the time scale for getting back to work is pretty big so that's why I was wondering if it might be an offer . What else could it be if its not so I know what to expect ?

depends when the last absence for it was.

if its around 9 months they may have an offer for you.

Unless you have had contact with Atos..I would be surprised if it was an offer. ..expect the unexpected ...I was offered ihr a couple of weeks ago for to finish at the end of May...I took the the offer...I feel dark times ahead

did they explain to you how and when you will be paid the monies??

As I stated in my previous reply,I had a meeting with my boss who said that the offer was 'X' amount,when they added outstanding holiday money and bank holdiday lieu days that were owed that made 'Y' amount.I then signed the form,left the building and I received a payslip the following Thursday as per normal and the money was in my account on the Friday.

Yep..34 weeks pay tax free. .1 weeks pay for each years service all paid on your last days sevice

I was off for a long time the last time and it was about a year and a half ago . Atos have phoned me twice . 1st time they told RM to stay away from me until after my MRI scan and the 2nd time the manager told them to phone me as I told them the MRI scan was months away and I was to get an xray beforehand . I did tell him I was doubtful I could do the job anymore or at least until I had surgery and both ways it would be a long time until I returned . He did mention IHR but said he couldn't authorise it .

34 weeks pay.
+
1-9 years service...9 weeks PILON
10 years...10 weeks.
11 years...11 weeks.
12 years+..12 weeks maximum.

Any outstanding annual leave at termination date.
