£50 Compo for lost Recordeds??

On our office flat screen, I think I saw something about lost Recorded's would cost Royal Mail a Compensation of £50 for each one.
Think it was Recorded's, but at the time didn't really take much notice. Might have mentioned Tracked too...

Is this Correct? Thanks..

Yes that is correct. £20 compensation for standard 1c/2c and £50 for Signed For (Recorded no longer exists). This is as of Aprils price changes.

For stamped, metered and by account* items a postage refund plus compensation on the basis of actual loss, where evidence of posting and evidence of value can be provided. This compensation is subject to the maximum payable being the lower of the market value of the item and the maximum of £50.00.

Can you prove you put money in the card? No, didn't think so.

The link you supplied was about delayed items, which is nothing to do with your alleged case. It never arrived; which is lost, not delayed.

Anyway, the link supplied by Phil, scroll down to exclusions (j), you'll see the statement that matters.....

Yep, Mr Slave...cant prove it! But my 81 yr old dad don't lie....but there u go.
Looks like someones arf inched it along the way, stuck in York, or behind a tray/trolley somewhere...so hes gonna see the PO staff asap.
Whatever the reason, its gonna have to get looked into as the card alone cost him £2.50 plus...as a Disabled Pensioner, thats a lot.
