Lapsing starts tomorrow

Our glorious managers put up a flip chart notice on Saturday while we were all out on delivery. This details the lapsing for every duty in the office. Isn't there a national hold on all lapsing / absorbing workload until we get a statement for HQ? We have a relatively new rep and I for one will not be doing any extra as there is no gash time in my 7 looper. Is it every man for themselves or can we get a 'joint statement' on this????

We are supposed to start absorbing every day in a couple of weeks. We only do 2 days at the present and we all hate that. They call it summer time savings. :roll:

Other than christmas we have had lapsing everyday for 4 years. Revision in a few weeks should put a stop to that though, not for long though I'm sure :crazy:

lapsing?....... horrible thing .....and no one likes it. But the cold hard facts are if you rush around and don't take your legally entitled breaks and come in early this is what you get. The only thing to blame for lapsing is the vast majority of the "im alright jack brigade" You know the ones..... OWN WALK, WOULDNT DREAM OF DOING ANOTHER WALK AND AS LONG AS I,M ALRIGHT STUFF EVERYBODY ELSE. THE MANAGEMENT AT ROYAL MAIL ARE JUST TAKING THE PISS AND THE SADDEST THING IS THAT WE ALL JUST ACCEPT IT. AGAIN I WILL ASK THE QUESTION ....WHEN ARE CWU GONNA WAKE UP AND SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I WONT HOLD MI BREATH THATS FOR SURE!! A DISGRACE THE LOT OF EM. I FOR ONE WILL REFUSE TO DO ANY LAPSING AS USUAL I WILL BE THE ODD ONE OUT AS THE OTHERS SELL THEIR TRUTH AND SOUL FOR 300 QUID A WEEK!!!

manager tried the same little stunt on us - we collectively told him to go f**k HIMSELF. The lapsing was taken off the rota.

Common slang in Yorkshire as well for Spare, free etc. As in "Got any gash pies billy"
