refusal to sign for stage one

Hi Guys

My union rep has advised me not to sign the document for the stage one attendance. Do I still receive the stage one ? Are there any consequences of not signing it?

You don't have to sign for it but it's still issued.

If you're off because of something RM has done then why sign for it............it still gets issued but it can always be brought up at a stage 3 that you didn't agree with the 1st stage and refused to sign for it.

Don't just refuse to sign it.
State your detailed reasons for refusal in writing and make sure these are included in the notes.
You would be surprised how many get to stage 3 and can't remember exactly why they refused to sign a stage 1.
Your rep should be keeping notes as well but.....

Sounded like he was instructed by rep without a reason given, obviously if RM had caused sick period the rep would have instructed OPG to submit grievance and given him an LS3 form. I hope all reps take notes when attending stages.
