Yes they do, we struggle in our office to cover walks on overtime, so we get posties from all over the area coming in on overtime.

Just don't turn up to do it within your duty time, I don't know if it was just a myth but remember reading on ere that somebody supposedly got sacked for doing so.

Since PSP it is harder to actually get paid for OT in other offices. It has to be paid by your parent office and the hours are moved around via the RCS system. Some managers are loathed to pay out initially as the hours come out of their budget and only get transferred around behind the scenes. Make you tell your parent office you are doing the OT before you do it so he doesn't get surprise emails about it afterwards.

I was tempted to do this but can you imagine the ball ache when they don't pay you, or pay the wrong amount. Chasing it up would be serious hassle!

Another possibility (depends on how far away your DO is) is to enquire about doing overtime at your local MC (possibly the the last 2-3 hours of the night shift or the first 2-3 hours of the late shift)

Smells like BS to me, some of ours have done o/t at other offices regularly and always turned up within their duty time, often finishing the o/t within it too.

The managers are just glad somebody turned up so they don't have to do it.

In my office, if staff are given OT on another walk, they are not allowed to start it until their duty time is up. I.e. if they are on duty until 3pm, then they can't start OT until then.
I'm surprised though, that managers don't allow them to do it during duty time, just so they can pay less OT, and claim what is done during the remaining duty time is lapsing.

Since my working hours is 25 per week and my manager does not really like me, he always gives OT to other people. Can I approach my local delivery office manager directly without telling my manager?

why does your manager have anything to do with the overtime,also why does your guvnor dissagree with
you only working 25 hours ?.

How do I find out which local delivery offices have overtime on offer as I am on week off next week and there is none. I can't use the phone.
