D2D question

A postie in our unit took a special leave day off unpaid, he was also stopped the £4 odd D2D payment for the one day but when he worked the following day he was instructed by a DIM to deliver the previous days D2D mail which went undelivered when he was off. Surely if he delivered that D2D mail which went undelivered the day before and which he had been stopped payment on, he would be entitled to be reimbursed the money stopped.

The Delivery Supplement is not a payment for doing D2D.

If your manager tells you to deliver D2D's from your day off i'd suggest you cut off. It's his/her responsibility to check whoever did your round that they take out the d2d's.

but only cut off if your going to be over your time, you cant cut off if you can finish within your duty time otherwise you could be in trouble yourself

It's an interesting one,not the D2D issue because that's irrelevant but I wasn't aware that the DS would be reduced with unpaid special leave.
It shows that the PSP system sees it as an hourly supplement,not a weekly supplement which you could argue is fairer although that wasn't the intention when it was introduced.
It would be interesting to see what rate of overtime the OPG would receive for that week up until their contracted hours because it should include the DS.

it does reduce,,,,i had to have 3 days off last year mrs went in to hospital,,,i had to mind the kids,,,i got 2 days unpaid leave 1days paid.

in all I noticed I`d lost over half of the delivery supplement that week the gits.

but if your off sick they don't stop it,,,,,,,again last nov I was off for a week,,,ill,,,,,,I got a full weeks wage and delivery supplement LOL

Why is it intresting ? The delivery supplement is a permanent addition to basic pay and gets paid when you are on leave and sick leave. It also goes up in line with pay rises. The only difference is it is not pensionable. So if you have special leave c , or take industrial action then you are stop the equivalent in hours that you have taken which includes the proportion of the delivery supplement.

When you have special leave c your basic pay reduces so does your supplement as it is now an addition to your basic pay.

Just seems a bit harsh that's all.
Special leave C seems to be all members are getting these days despite the guidelines that are routinely ignored.
Could do with tightening the whole thing up a bit.

On this one I agree with Dingo. If you are part time and work 4 days you get paid pro rata. So if you take an unpaid day off you also get paid pro rata. Seems fair enough to me.
