Negotiations are ongoing but we can't tell you anything because nothing has been agreed but we are working very hard on your behalf - I mean how many of you have experience at negotiating at this level - it isn't easy to be sitting in meetings day after day, week after week, month after month. I for one would rather be working for a living, these breakfast, dinners and teas take there toll.

No progress on pay , processing , network or the future talks.

they would not need to consult members if they had informed them on lack of progress and kept everyone at shop floor level updated

It's really indicative of the state of play when there is a necessity for a consultation - I mean a consultation isn't binding but a ballot is. Half of all delivery offices haven't yet been through the modernisation agreement and consequently haven't experienced the trauma it can bring. A ballot will only take place if the consultation provides positive feedback for action and a consideration for that is the fact that half of the offices have NOT changed in the last three years.

Its interesting to see that the pace of change is agreed but all those factors which benefit the members such as pay, pension and the future are still in negotiation - perhaps it may have been a tactic to say we'll agree the pace of change WHEN we have agreed the other factors.

Why are we agreeing things in a piecemeal fashion when we have far more serious issues on the horizon?
That goes against every negotiation rule in the book.
If you add the absolute lack of a joined up communication and engagement strategy to the fact that a "pace of change" agreement will be announced shortly this consultation ballot doesn't stand a chance.
It's almost as if it's being deliberately sabotaged.
