Hi does anyone know if the new attendance procedure is in place yet.

I notice one of the changes was if you accrue six months without absence you are removed from that stage? Does that apply if the six months were mostly accrued before the new procedure starts?

Or didn't they think of that?

TRANSITIONAL ARRANGEMENTS

This will be straight forward for most parts of Royal Mail Group. No one will be disadvantaged in comparison to what would have happened had they stayed on the current procedure. Where the new arrangements are of benefit by coming off the procedure more quickly, this will be implemented from the date of introduction.

I think the plan is...

If you started a stage prior to the new procedure kicking in it will last 6 months from the implementation date unless there is less than 6 months remaining in which case it will run it's normal course.

Surely anyone who has completed 6 months without going sick would be removed from the procedure.
Or how do you deal with someone triggering a stage 2, 7 months after triggering a stage 1?

It starts on 27th may and anyone who is on an attendance warning who has not had an absence in 6 months will either come off the procedure or revert to a stage 1 if you we're on a stage 2 . PSP has been programmed to this effect and those indivduals will be informed by letter.

So if im on a stage 1 and had 1 absence of 5 days and the 6 month period is may I would now be on no stage on the 27th may

From the 27th may there is no rolling period. So if you have not triggered the next step then you will come off of the procedure.

RE: ROYAL MAIL NATIONAL ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE: ROLLOUT

Arrangements for rollout of the new National Attendance Procedure have been agreed with Royal Mail Group and are now underway.


Two Joint Briefings involving senior Field Officials and senior HR Managers have now taken place. The associated slide presentation has been made available to senior Field Officials and Managers and will be supported by film clips illustrating various aspects of the new procedure to enable joint cascade of the key messages in the new agreement down to unit level.

In order to allow sufficient time to maximise the effectiveness of the joint message the implementation date for the new procedure has been further deferred and the intention is now that the new procedure will become effective from 27 May 2013, following WTLL sessions week commencing 20 May.
