Reserves rest days

Until recently there was only 6 or 7 full time reserves at our office. A month or so ago the 20 odd reserves who were on reduced hour contracts were made up to full time and given contracts with rolling rest days. All well and good and I'm pleased for them but those of us who were already full time have been left on the same random day contracts. How can this be right?? We don't find out when we'll be off until the Friday before and very very seldomly get given a Saturday off,whilst the new guys will be having long weekends every 6 weeks.Anybody else had an experience like this and was it resolved??

As a reserve with 9 years service I remember not having a long weekend in about a year . Guys just in door ,left on jobs for months etc, get reg long weekends,,,makes ya feel special ,,

A long weekend every 4 weeks for everyone at my office. Part-timers never have to work a Wednesday or Thursday.

reserves even although they may not get 1 in 6 they are still entitled to the same number of long weekends everyone else gets.

Really? Didn't know that. Think I've had one long weekend in 6 years so that's good info for me.

I thought you had your own round?

Indeed I do - last repick the members voted for a mix of fixed days off and rotating - I picked into a duty with a fixed day off when it was advertised. Before that I was a reserve and got the usual Tuesdays off.
