Rules on Overtime?

I'm fed up of working for RM at the moment.

I'm on a part-time collections contract and have been for about 4 years. Now I want to do overtime on deliveries yet it's becoming more and more difficult to do so.

We've almost finished a re-pick. I've been told I cannot move to deliveries because my contract is 20 hours. Why can't I have a delivery contract on more hours???

There are posties in our office that have been there for a lot less and yet they get the overtime because they are on deliveries. I get even more annoyed when posties in other offices are getting full time contracts after just 6 months in the job!!!

I've decided that from now on I'm just going to treat RM as an OT job and look for a full-time job elsewhere, whether it's nights or 6-2.

Nothing is stopping you applying for positions in local offices nearby with more hours. But you'd lose your collection duty. You have to way up the pros and cons.

I'm sure they would love that.

Are you also saying my seniority can override someone else's in their own office? I wasn't aware of that.

And yes I want to do deliveries not collections. I think after about 4 years I've served my time.

it will sort of go like this, a FTer leaves so the vacancy is advertised internally in the office, a PTer will get that vacancy and the resultant vacancy is the one you would be able to go for as a transferee, so its not actually going to piss anyone off thats in the office already

Your seniority will transfer with you, but doesnt been you can instantly displace someone, just when a vacancy arises after you have transfered in or a re pick in your new office your seniority in the office will include the time spent in other parts of the business
