Changing duties after a resign.

Hi all, I was wondering if somebody could clarify this situation that has arisen at out office.
After a resign I found myself in a full time reserve position, anyway two months later and the departure of a fellow full time employee has left a vacancy that I thought being in the senior reserve position would get first options on ( Based on the fact that everybody else above me in seniority had signed for a position in the resign and would therefore be tied into that duty for 12 months )
I'm now being told that the position will go up on the board and that it will allocated on seniority of the applicants because the 12 month stay in a duty after signing for it doesn't count for a resign..

Is this true ?

Yes - its Part of the Way Forward Agreement.

The 12 month "ban" on moving only applies to advertised posts - revisions are not included.

That might cause a bit of disruption if people start shifting around, again. The only good thing is that you should now have a duty to sign for - but will you like that duty or even the P&L partner? Decisions, decisions!

We have the same sort of thing at mine. Repick completed with one very senior member of long-term sick - he picked a nice plum driver's jobbie; however, he might not even be coming back... So there is a queue of folks waiting for his decision

Yes, as pointed out there will be a spot created for me, but I fear it might end up being a choice between the Devil and the dark blue sea.

Oh well, at least the weather is nice outside !
