Royal Mail door to doors

Hi.

Im very new to the Royal mail. Only been here a week and havent had any door to doors yet.

Just wondering, do you only post the door to doors that have letters on that day?
For example Tuesday had very few letters and lots of doors didnt have any post.
Would you of had to put the door to doors in them doors still?

Or would you leave them in the frame. And maybe post them the next day when them houses have letters.

Oh dear..... door2 doors. I hate these things so very much. Last week a charity, yes a charity were on my list. A BIG FAT ENVOLOPE STUFFED WITH A PEN ETC. ALSO I HAD 3 OTHER D2DS. Firstly my question is how the hell can a charity afford to send 1000s of pens etc? it beggers belief!! Double slots on your frames .... You cant fit the sh*t in. Its impossible. ! Who the hell gives this the OK. No doubt some ars*hole 100s of miles away in some nice warm office. Surely our union could look into this for us if they have time during their butty/fag/brew breaks. ITS A SHAMBLES!!!

NOBODY WANTS D2DS..CUSTOMERS BIN EM THE MINUTE THEY GET EM AND BEFORE YOU TELL ME JOBS WOULD BE LOST IF WE DIDNT HAVE EM NO MORELIES!! 1000S OF JOBS HAVE ALREADY GONE AND 100S OF MILLIONS OF POUNDS HAVE BEEN SAVED OVER LAST 5 YEARS WITH UPTO 30% SAVINGS ON LESS STAFF ETC SHAME ON YOU!!!

We will always be busy the "good" thing about having to do D2Ds is that your busy to less houses over the week because of them. If we didn't have D2Ds then the duties would be even bigger (because they have allegedly been counted as part of the workload), because there is no way RM would allow posties to become "less efficient" when based on revenue and costs.

should be done row by row but most managers let you do them how you want as long as there all done by end of the week and you don't shaft your cover

Why are all offices so different ? In ours the frames are divided into 6 days ,and we have to do ALL the d2ds for that day irrelalvant if they have post .And we sign the d2ds off for each day.Or you on a conduct warning !!!!

Ours are done column by column, though my frame has seven columns for six days! Some stupid new form has just been brought out to sign the days you do them, but I've handed it back already as I've put them all out - we also have to give back the overs with a note of the walk and date. I expect questions soon as to why so many are given back, and "I was given too many" will be questioned even more.

FWIW I take them to those with mail, plus some in between when its obvious which places they are for.

Try and stream whenever possible.
But that will depend on how your office runs
Being a floater I try and check with whoever I'm covering for before I'm on their duty
If not I'll say to them after
Some folk no matter what will try and take the puddle

My office has a list of what to do on each frame, as long as the minimum is done and the list is filled in everyday they don't mind but I would do all the ones due on a light day (unless it's a farm and then those shouldn't be planned for a Tuesday).
