Repick....

Hello all! Our office recently underwent a repick in which I had to accept a contract of 23 and a half hours being a leave reserve over 5 days. Previously I was on a 25 hour contract over 5 days so just assumed my Id be doing pretty much the same thing as I did before. To my dismay I have been put on a 3 day week so I must work my hours over Mn, Tues and Sat. Not a massive fan of the early mornings and besides it was not what I agreed to.

I spoke to our rep who agreed with me but following his discussions with the bosses he said that being a leave reserve meant covering everybody including people on a 3 day week. A perfectly reasonable explanation, however, the duties I'm covering this week are not people on a 3 day week, just people with a day off. Unfortunately the contract does not specify how many days I should be at work so I think Im left without a leg to stand on. Kindve annoying though because what was the point in me picking anything! Plus my hours have been reduced which is bad enough!

Any ideas anyone?

Was this repick due to an office revision?

Nobody should be forced to change their contracted hours so at the very least you should not have lost hours. If what you picked was the only hours available something has gone wrong as you have been forced.

Well I was on a Fixed Term Temporary contract before so I guess they didnt have to give me a contract at all! Hardly ethical after 2 years service but entirely legal unfortunately (I think....?)

To answer your question, I'm not sure....Park and Loop came in over a year ago here but wouldnt suprise me if this was the soonest they had got round to the repick.
