How often do you get a new DOM?

I'm asking as ours has been here for about 6 years and is WELL past his sell by date(the w****r can't take a hint and feck off

)before him we got them changed about every two years.
Are they in position for life when appointed(god no!

) or are they routinely move on?

Ours used to change every couple of years or so, the current one has been here nearly 6. And he's an even bigger twat now than he was when he arrived.
He has about 6 or 7 lino's under him(often quite literally), who seem to change quite often, generally last a year or 18 months. Maybe even they get fed up of him.

Up until 4 or 5 years ago Royal Mail had a policy of moving Dom's around at regular intervals.
It was supposed to do something to their learning curve or some other blue sky bollocks,It was no doubt an idea some graduate management consultant had spewed up at a senior management brainstorm over a double choco-latte....kids and chocolate.

Obviously,like my hoover it sucked and blowed at the same time.

we have one every 3-6 months they can't handle our union rep when hes actually there and not ill!

We had a patch when the managers changed every few months, followed by one who for one reason or another wasn't there and was shall we say a little brittle. and a multitude of stand ins. The current DOM was an acting whilst the regular DOM was on planning duties and then took retirement and was appointed a few months ago and is a good 'un.
