Ask for a grievance form

You can download the grievance form off this site. Fill it in, put it in an envelope, and ask him for the name and address for his boss, when he asks why tell him.
He'll change his mind and pay you, though you will make him a bigger enemy.
Alternatively, if you don't want him to know until it's too late, ask your Rep/Area Rep where you should send it. Unless you know who his boss is already.

I know who their boss is but not sure where they're based, easily found out though. The DOM has it in for a lot of us, for no apparent reason, so don't really care if I make a bigger enemy of them!

It may be enough, but then ................
better to go into the office with one already printed off in your hand. Explain to the DOM that you need to know his boss's address so that you can send it off.

Plus, if you take one in with you already to go and tell them, you do get to enjoy the look on the DOM's face. It will be a picture.

Congrats. Just watch your back, it will have a target on it now. Though, in my view, you wouldn't have had to go as far as you did had the manager done his job properly.

If you knew how many unresolved grievances there are in Royal Mail you wouldn't say that.
The grievance procedure is a deeply flawed relic of days gone by that badly needs updating.
The Bullying and Harassment procedure has been updated...but it's still crap.
Both rely on strong branch support which is sadly missing in too many areas.

I know where you are at, the truth is, and I am loath to say it, but some Reps don't follow the proccess through, I believe that Branch Secretary's should be copied in on all Grievance's and ensure they ALL reach a resolution.
