so after 13 years service...5 years of physiotherapy....3 months off sick recovering from surgery..royal mail have offered me ihr..some come end of may I will be getting my social life and my health back....and as my office is about to go into van share ..the timing is brilliant...all the best

all in all after all the holidays they owe me....just a bit under a years basic salary

i too took ihr on 12 april 2013 due to a foot problem so glad they offered it and so glad i took it

Been at atos today and they confirmed i qualify for ihr its now down to dom

Fair play...i had my atos interview on a monday afternoon..my dom phoned me tuesday morning with a quote for ihr...that quick

Got my referral phone call to atos next week , had a heart attack 1st week in march, not worked since , still having tests etc to see how much damage has been done , go back to Dr's next week for blood pressure test as its been high ever since the heart attack , in fact they think its been high for a few years (or so they think ) , and that's what has caused the heart problems , apparently 185/110 for years isn't good for you , also now been told my kidneys could be damaged too ,because of long term blood pressure problems ,so gotta be tested for that too !!
Next week going for CTscans ,and an angiogram , will have to wait for the results of these ,and judging by the speed of the previous test results , im probably gonna be signed of for at least another 3/4 weeks , that will make 3 months off work , its interesting to see a previous poster had 3 months off, albeit with previous physio, and they offered them IHR !!

i wonder now will they will see me as a health risk with a heart problem? , and i must admit ,i will be skeptical about pounding the streets for hours on end

Wow... by the sounds of that...if you want ihr..you can have it..remember your health is your first concern....

Leaving at the end of the month due to ill health. After 27 years my body has given up. Time for a career change.
Had some good times in the job, met some fantastic people but not going to miss how the job has changed.

Yep...thats my thoughts....i've had some great times and met some good lads...i'm a bit scared of leaving the job...but this is not the same job as when i started....but i'm putting my health first....

Thanks...i've had some good times...but when you are given the choice of if you stay on as a postie you will need spinal surgery or leave....no brainer....
