Sick Procedure?

Hi, Just wondering what you do? Is there a special sick-line to call (as this is what happened at my last job) or do you just call/go in and see your manager? And what happens with sick notes? Sorry for asking such a dumb question but I've never called in sick before and can't find any info about what the sick procedure for RM is?

ring up duties or your line manager to inform them you cant work due to sickness. you can self-certificate up to 7 days , thereafter you need to see a Doctor for a Doctors Note and he will sign you off work.

Yeah of course he can. Just say you need time off as you are unwell and he'll sign you off for x amount of time. Should be fine man. Get well soon! :-D

I had an accident during my walk last Saturday and broke my ankle
lost my footing on a step. I have only been in the job 4 months the job is
full time contract. but with a 6 month probation period. will I get sick pay?

I believe you will get statutory sick pay only, not your full wage. I believe RM pay you and claim it off the state.

It depends on the manager and staffing issues. There is nothing to stop them from not renewing your contract, as they don't even need to give a reason.
If the manager/DOM is ok, then you may be fine. There is no definite answer anyone can give. Sorry.

I am surprised RM do not have rules/guidelines for accidents at work like most companies. They need to follow legislation . Do they not have a duty of care.
Strangley enough while I am typing this had a text from accident management company re compensation.
God only know where they got my number from. Anyway fingers crossed everything will work out ok !
