Anybody attend this bore fest at Old Trafford today?
Don't worry I'm sure it will come to other Royal Mail regions.
Basically we need investment from a private source,we all must be more flexible and should show `respect` to our competitor's mail , the mail volumes are down but the parcels are up(hurray.... so that's why they put the price up )and we must all work together so that the big wigs get a nice pay off.
Oh and questions where asked and she's more elusive than Bigfoot,I really don't see what the CWU HQ lot wet their knickers over her for.
And although there was a large amount of managers who attended not one asked any questions .Set of Sycophants.

Hmmmm.... there was one about our older colleagues and how they were expected to keep pace with the young un's,which was nicely dodged.
Somebody from Manchester asked something which gathered a round of applause but that probably was what woke me up so didn't catch it fully,think it was something about Moya visiting his office 2 years ago and something or other hadn't been sorted out yet and she said ask her again in another year.
Mostly it was a load of crap about investment and the such,in fact it was well `managed ` as soon as it started to get a bit more rowdy she was off faster than a fart in the wind..

These companies won't look at just the last few months!

Even the "short-term boost to profits" argument doesn't hold water if our parcel customers bail out on us in large numbers.

I don't know. Not if the narrative is "profits are going up, up, up!" (Or "We're turning the corner!" ...again)

The effect only has to last a few months, and while it's an illusion, a drop in the actual number of packets should - in theory - drive overtime and transport costs down a little. The big companies aren't touching us no matter what but the little investors might.

Cheers, it seems that its essentially a PR exercise, I would imagine it would be similar when they come round to my area as you say its a road show round the Country.

There was a group of people in our office ready to 'go and see Moya'. I swear I've never seen half of them in my life. Paid actors is my suggestion. ;-)

Yes you have to question the veracity of these road shows, our contribution to the audience was those who are on rehab, picked up in a bus and driven to the venue Apparently Moyas answer to the question about mismatched age groups on P&L was to suggest that the older team member consider if RM was the place to be!!! The bloke who reported that to me is 59!!!!

Strange that all the kissy kissy Kermit going on between Moya and the CWU that there wasn't a Senior Union Rep on stage with her to sort of reinforce her statement OR more to the point put the alternative.

To be fair mate most of the senior Union reps are at conference talking about... well I don't know really,but it must be something important.
