Hi All,
Im just posting this message as I good friend of mine in Royal mail is going though a conduct case at the moment and it seems to just be dragging on and on.
This there a time scale for the whole thing to be done in from start to finish?
he is currently waiting a conduct meeting, he has done the fact finding interview and is now waiting on the next step.
Im trying to help him to put his mind at rest and our union rep dont seem to know or is siding with the managers which I feel is wrong.
If anyone can give me a few answers that would be great.

In reality, conduct code cases should take no more then 2 or 3 weeks. But, it does depend on many things, like how competent the line manager is 
, how serious the charges are, how much evidence there is to gather. It may also be affected by things like A/L etc.. Obviously, it doesn't help your friend who is no doubt worrying themselves sick. But then, that would be a desired side effect from the company's point of view, they like people to stew.

Cheers for the reply.
He has has the fact finding and the notes have been sent and returned also he has been given a letter to state that the matter will go further but its been a week nearly but still no letter for a conduct meeting with a higher manager.
So it sounds pretty werid as iv seen cases wrapped up in a couple of weeks from start to finish.
Also we have just found out for the reason he is being conducted he should of been suspended but he wasnt and carried on working as normal and doing docket everyday!

Unless the investigating managers are like the corrupt clowns who imho "fabricated evidence" to get me out.They will be taking advice from legal bods ,but if your friend should have been susspended it sounds like these overpaid incompetants have made a balls of it.They will not risk a ET as thats an open goal those W****** from Weightmans wont be bothered as they get paid in orloose.I would advise your mate to be extra vigilant if this does go tits up they will try and use anything or anybody to acheive there objective trust me i was a victim of these low lifes
