Moya's 'My View'

In her latest 'My View', chief executive Moya Greene discusses our progress and working together
It’s been a busy period, with lots going on.
As I said last month, I see the glass as being half full rather than half empty I can see that we’re continuing to make progress and I’m confident about our future, as long as we continue to work together.
Making progress
We have a plan that is based on winning and keeping the loyalty of our customers in every segment of traffic.
Parcels represent a great opportunity for us. The good news is that the core Royal Mail network is already the best in the business. We have the biggest market share by volume and revenue. This is because people trust us and recognise the excellent quality that you and your teams deliver.
Our letters business also continues to be key for us. With a better regulatory framework, we have been able to win business like British Gas
With our new commercial freedoms, we are able to be fairly paid and, as you know, unlike the situation two years ago, we are now making money on Access mail. We made £80 million on Access mail in 2011-12*.
All our customers – including parcels, letters and access customers – deserve our best. It is only by providing continued excellent quality can we stay on top and be successful.
We cannot afford to be complacent. There is a lot of competition. We have to get it right or our customers will move their traffic in a heartbeat.
Working together
When we work together, with our unions, we achieve a lot. There are many things on which we agree. We all agree Royal Mail needs access to capital.
We know that there is work to do. That will always be the case. We will continue to discuss our differences and difficulties with the CWU.
What the company will look like
We have a great opportunity now to get access to external capital at a time when we need to invest to grow our company.
This is the only path forward if we are to continue to offer great service, and safeguard high-quality jobs. I see a bright future if we work together to deliver our strategy.
We will combine the best of both the public and private sectors.
We will continue to have very high service standards that we are honoured to provide and which are enshrined in law.
We will be the best delivery and marketing mail company in the UK.
And because of all this, we will be able to provide many good-quality, more secure jobs than in any other part of our industry.
We have a great chance to work together to build on our success.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Moya's 'My View'
I think Moya Greene and I have differing viewpoints.POSTMAN wrote: We have a plan that is based on winning and keeping the loyalty of our customers in every segment of traffic.
Parcels represent a great opportunity for us.But the recent price rises have meant a loss of parcels business, as customers move to cheaper couriers, they have no loyalty to RM anymore.
Our letters business also continues to be key for us. Even though there is a 'massive decline?' Most letters are now DSA, so our key business is doing everybody else's work for them?
With our new commercial freedoms, we are able to be fairly paid and, as you know, unlike the situation two years ago, we are now making money on Access mail. We made £80 million on Access mail in 2011-12*.Utter bullshit. Creative accounting to stave off boycott.
All our customers – including parcels, letters and access customers – deserve our best. And yet the service has gotten worse over the last few years, and will continue to do so as RM 'streamlines'.
We cannot afford to be complacent. There is a lot of competition. We have to get it right or our customers will move their traffic in a heartbeat.Too late.
Working together
When we work together, with our unions, we achieve a lot. There are many things on which we agree. We all agree Royal Mail needs access to capital.
She was nick named Moya the Destroyer in Canada for killing the union. She has no intention of working with the CWU, just rendering it toothless ASAP. We agree on very little.
This is the only path forward if we are to continue to offer great service, and safeguard high-quality jobs. The great service? Sinking rapidly. They don't intend to safeguard high-quality jobs at all, they intend to cut staff by a hefty number, and replace FT with PT, and the pay scale will be cut to national minimum if they can pull it off.
We will continue to have very high service standards that we are honoured to provide and which are enshrined in law.Laws can be changed.
And because of all this, we will be able to provide many good-quality, more secure jobs than in any other part of our industry. As long as staff are willing to accept savage wage cuts, destruction of working conditions, stupid attendance patterns, another attack on their already devalued pensions etc..
We have a great chance to work together to build on our success.Roughly translated as the posties are about to get it where the sun don't shine. Many times. And better smile while it happens.
* after modernisation before other exceptional costsThey still haven't fully explained this either. As I said before, utter bullshit.
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a Rep.
