Royal Mail and Unite are pleased to announce that following further discussion a negotiated agreement has been reached on reward for 2012- 2013. Royal Mail has revised its final offer as below:

2.4% Pay Increase

We propose a 2.4% pensionable pay increase from July 2012 flowing through to overtime and allowances. As usual, for some specific management groups the 2.4% increase will be applied, using the agreed standard practice for those populations (HRS , Finance, IT and Procurement).

£200 Lump Sum Payment

A non-pensionable lump sum payment of £200 (Pro rata for part-time), which is payable on the first practical pay date after acceptance of the offer.

Consolidated £200 Payment

A consolidation of the lump sum of £200 into the basic pay from the end of June 2013.

Broadband Managers

This year we are funding an additional 1% to facilitate progression through the pay range for high performing managers.

Unite will now put this pay offer to its members in a ballot with a recommendation to accept.

Further communications will follow to confirm the payment dates once acceptance of the offer has been confirmed.

These negotiations have been protracted and difficult but the position reached is a positive one for both parties.

Both parties also commit to commencing and concluding the pay review negotiations for July 2013 as a matter of urgency.

Yes it's lasts years deal. They are due another one soon in theory. If it has taken 10 months for management to get an acceptable offer, how long will it take for ours? Though it will still be s**t.
