Prep rates and frames

Hi all. I am a fairly new postie. I have recently been timed on my prep rate on my walk frame and was told that I should be finished prepping in one hour thirty eight minutes, this equates to thirty letters every one minute. I prepped at twenty eight! Not good enough I was told. I prep two frames and have been told this will soon be three, all to be ready for my own walk to be ready by 09.30 is this right? No was has told me what happens next with my 'low speed'. Ta.

Are you a full-time staff? If you are double-prepping on overtime then you are putting yourself under undue pressure.

No one can prep 2 walks 'completely' in the time allocated. They want you to prep 3 walks and then do your own - that is a joke! You are probably very good at your job (even more so as a new postie) and they are taking the mick because you are relatively junior - my view.

The time of 1 hour 38 minutes can only be a guide. Our job in delivery is not linear and it varies wildly...

How was your test done. If it was a full prep test ie throwing in, packets, D2Ds, redirections, kill off, bundling up and packing, ready to go, then this test is not recognised under any agreement with the cwu. The only prep test that is valid is the one minute test.
