Hermes in peace - packets ?

My volumes have gone thru the roof this week - virtually Xmas levels !!

I expected that the customer-to-customer stuff that we deliver for Ebayers etc would increase, because of the recent RM price increases, but I don't know whether this is the start of an upsurge in work for big companies as well, or maybe just a "freak" week ?

Are you RM bods seeing any downturn in parcel volume recently ?

Yeah strangely enough not as many packets this week, lot of catalogs and brochures though, but its usually Thursday onwards when packets go mad on my round.

I was already considering dropping one of my rounds before we start hitting the Xmas rush ( was having trouble fitting everything in my van, and the geography of area I cover makes it difficult to re-load without incurring a lot of "dead" mileage and wasted time )

May have to bite the bullet sooner than I thought unless it is a "freak" week.

2 to 3 packet bags a day (except Tuesday which was only 1) plus bulks, tracked and specials...........so normal for my duty.

can i get a job there.
what tosser came out with a ten hour duty. a york of packets must be about 30 minutes an item.
next you will be saying its a part-time duty. 30 hours a week 3day week.

Parcels are considerably down in collections and processing, according to a couple of colleagues. PF have increased their numbers, but business has been lost to the likes of Hermes.

Lots of forums and Twitter feeds show that small businesses and eBayers are not at all happy with the RM price increases with many using price comparison site Parcel2go.com which offers track and trace (as does Hermes).
