Advice needed!

Hi I'm new to this and need a bit of advice! I have been off sick for 4 weeks with work related anxiety and depression and am signed off until the 29th of April, I had an Atos assessment on Monday of this week and they said to stay off until the sck note expires then return on reduced hours to "ease" back into full time work, However I have just received a letter requesting me to meet with the DSM to discuss my absence tomorrow morning at 7.30am in my delivery office! What do I do attend or decline?

If you're not up to attending work/interviews etc as it states in your ATOS report and sick note you can decline to go in. But do offer the DSM the chance to visit you at home as long as your CWU rep is there.

another form of bullying to pressure people to come off sick and return to work. thats all its about when you get a request to meet dsm. not sure if u can cancel appointment if you do attend you must have cwu rep with you or a colleague do not attend on your own. if you do attend ask the dsm what part does he not understand of your sicknote? and of what part does he not understand atos report when they say stay on sick until your sicknote runs out. also ask dsm how much more medically qualified is he than your gp and atos on how to decide whats best for your medical needs. and how will you become medically better if you come back on his bullying pushing terms. then sit back and watch him scratch his head.....enjoy!!!

Well as the depression/anxiety is work related perhaps the DSM is attempting to find a happy medium where you would feel comfortable in returning to work - which I am sure you would want too - but as previously suggested have your unit rep with you and don't agree anything you are not comfortable with. If he makes a suggestion which at face value looks OK - don't make a snap decision, ask for time to think about it.

Are you not supposed to have 48hrs notice for this meeting? i would ask to have it a day later and also later in the morning when all the posties are out,
so as you don't have to walk thru them all. And yes have your rep or a colleague with you.

Thanks for the advice guys, I have rearranged the time as so I will see as few people around the office as possible and have also arranged for te union rep to be in attendance..........Watch this space!!
