Summer lapsing ?

Can anybody tell me what constitutes summer? Management are saying it's from early May to the middle of September. Is there any agreement regarding the actual dates of summer as I thought it would be June/July & August.

The dates, i guess, vary from office to office,
Summer lapsing constitutes being told that you will lapse something like 1-2 walks for 12 weeks during summer, but only if it's possible for you to fit it into your work load.
when in reality, what will happen is, you will lapse 3-4 walks, permanently through the year and any refusal to do it, will result in you being prep/walk tested and you being accused of being too slow and incompetent

Good old lapsing hey. When this first started everybody in our office said they wouldn't do it, you know canteen warriors. So I decided no more rushing just do the job properly. Told the lino would be coming back on time. " Make sure you do he said" so i did and handed him two bags of mail after returning to the office. Next day lino said if you have no lapsing will you complete your walk I said of cause so lapsing was taken off me,now guess what. Next day lino said I had to do lapsing again because Posties not managers had complained they said we have to do it so should he. Two of the three Posties who had complained were joggers and the third just likes trouble. Nice when we all stick together isn't it

The culture now is look after yourself , i do my duty to the book i forget about what the other boys do .If they want to lapse let them lapse ,if they want to fly round let them .If anyone crys to manager about me not doing lapsing ,then i tell them the rules on lapsing end off

Weeks 10 to 24 are banded about as the summer lapsing period. We argue the point and usually agree 1st full week of June to 1st full week of September - weeks 10 to 23 I believe

They can and will try and lapse when they can. Weeks 10 to 24 mean nothing at all, unless you can show me an agreement?

we asked the question about lapsing during planning for revision and were told that because it was best week we would not have any.
guess what our dsm came and spoke to us all individually if we had any problems.he then went on a fortnights leave and guess what!! he told our dom to do a paper excersice on savings.
he knows our duties are not working but still tries it on

At one of our WTL sessions years ago the manager informed us about lapsing through the summer, I replied that logically it means we take out less during the winter when it's busy as we're always told about this swings and roundabouts by RM.
I knew what the reply would be before I pointed this out but irritates you a little when it's always one way and never the other.

Lapsing I've noticed was only supposed to be during the 'quiet' period over no more than 12 weeks, it keeps increasing every year and is even used when management cock up holiday entitlement and they need extra slots.

Simple answer cut off take your break work to your time.
