Has RM stopped paying statutory sick pay ?
I have had 365 off in 4 years and im off sick for the last 5 days .
I have 0.00 at bottom of pay slip and thats it sheffield said im not entitled to anything

iv never been on half pay , my sick leave has never been over 2 months at a time
my manager told me this week that he was stopping my pay and he had the right to do so
my illness is work related stress due to being harassed by the management

I thought you got 6 months full pay and 6 months 1/2 pay in a 4 year period, if you've had everything then it would appear you're not entitled to anymore. Have you contacted your union rep/area rep to get their view on it?

It sounds complicated with the work related thing thrown in.
What you definitely won't get is SSP for the first 3 days although depending on your illness there are other benefits you can receive.

The rules on receiving SSP are quite complicated...although if you've never received it before most of it should be irrelevant to you.

SSP is paid for up to 28 weeks. If you are off sick with gaps of eight weeks or less, your days off sick are added together to count towards the 28 weeks. If you are off sick more than once with more than eight weeks in between, the periods you were off sick are not added together and the 28 weeks starts being counted again each time. SSP also stops three years after you first become entitled to it, even if you have not had 28 weeks of the benefit. If your employment ends while you are on SSP, your sick pay will stop too. SSP does not stop if you go into hospital while you are off work.


If you’re unhappy with a decision
Talk to your employer if you think:

Their decision not to pay you SSP is wrong
You’re not getting the right amount of SSP
You can ask them for a reason. If this doesn’t sort the problem, contact the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) employees’ enquiry line.

thanks for the info spoke to rep yesterday and he said manager was organising a bacs payment today .
when it didnt go in i phoned sheffield and they said im not getting it .
reps away till monday so il speak to him when he's back .
