Revision postponed,,,,Parcel count

weve got really close to a revision,,,everything done (we thought) and even given a start date for it of 2 weeks.....

Then were told that its stopped for the time being due to "AREA" not happy with the parcel count for the office.

months an months ago we had to do the parcel count per street,,,sign for and specials per street....

now after months they put a hold on it all "due to being unhappy with the parcel figures"

we now have to do the count all over again and possiblility of "walks changing"

the last count was just before xmas,,,,,am i too synical to say they want them counting now at a quieter period?

anybody come across this 1 before?

Yep our figures were about 15%

So 6 months later forced to recount, came in 8% light week

There wego got shafted there and suffering now revision deployed

Ours were above the national average so they ignored them.

When our duty come up for revision we were told to do a parcel count, the number was somewhere in the high 60's on each duty....then it comes to revision and we told the parcel count we gave them was only in the 30's, we were asked for our advice on how to make the duty work we told them repeatedly it would be to big but it just fell on deaf ears.
We gave up arguing in the end and just cut off everyday.
Basically they're not happy with the parcel count and want to wait until it's quiet so they can make your duties larger.

That is what our dom says 12 weeks in and the P&L duties working over by 1-2hrs , my duty Ind Est driver only often goes over by an hour but was told it is a peformance issue

That's what we where told about our last revision, the DSM came in before it started and said that if it failed then it was because we weren't going to make it work........didn't work though, it's still FUBAR.

We're going through a revision and have been told to do a packet count, after a few days the DIM said that the figures seemed too high!
No doubt the paper work will be through the shredder and we'll do it again until we get the right
figures!!!

I worked in a collections hub, and about 7/8 years ago they did a revision, think it was the first to use the geo route computer tool, and the planner spent about 2 months imputing data to the program. The WTLL session prior to the button being pressed, we were told that, no matter what the tool says, what it spit out would be the collections we would run with, we said 'yeah, whatever'. We had 15 lunchtime collections, computer said we needed 25, we ended up with, surprise surprise, 13.

It's the same all over, they will redo, recount, and press on until they get the answer they want, only then will they pursue a revision going in. One that will achieve the aims they have set out, i.e. cutting costs, and one will not go in unless/until this is the case.

As a side note, whenever my boss has threatened to test me, which he is more than welcome to do, he is only ever available on a light day.
