I'm covering a HCT round all of next week for the first time. Was just wondering what the easiest method of doing it is - do you prefer locking it up and doing a loop or pushing it around with you? Are there any time benefits from each option etc? Any other tips when using one would be great!

its safe when locked up so do a loop and come back to the trollet minus wheels and mail

If you are doing flats/high rise you tie it up and use a pouch.
Otherwise you push it round.

I prefer to push it everywhere with me unless there is a genuine reason not to such as block of flats or footpaths too narrow for the damn thing (alot of those down my way).Pushing it everywhere does take longer but I've never seen the point in trying to save a few minutes.

I load them so that im emptying it front to back - my last bundles are at the bottom in the end nearest the handle and first are at the top at the other end this way when your half empty it's weighted in your favour when trying to get it up kerbs

packets (when possible) jammed in around the mail in order - so packets for the first half in the front and second half in the back

generally speaking the locks probably wont work (or someone will have forgotten to return the key) so dont go slamming the lid shut,
the brakes probably wont work either so be careful where you park the thing. (on that note, if it feels heavier than it should when pushing check the brakes aren't on )

And if it still won't go very far after checking the brakes are off, make sure it isn't still tied to a lamppost.
