2 of us going to Court in May because we got bitten by a dog in the street 3 months ago.
Will we get paid for the day in Court by RM or will we not get paid and have to claim it back from the Court?

It may depend in what sense you're going to court. Are you a witness? Was it you that got bitten? Is it in defence of a colleague? Pretty sure you'll get paid one way or the other. More details.

Then I fully expect you to be paid, probably by RM as you will no doubt be appearing for the prosecution which RM will be assisting. I know on Jury service forms are filled in as RM can claim the money back, so it may be something similar, or RM may be footing the bill, as they will want to appear to be doing everything they can to help prevent further instances from happening, given recent publicity of other dog attacks.

The only exception may be if it is a civil case, i.e. you are suing the dogs owner for compensation, you would probably not be paid in these circumstances.

whats it got to do with royal mail if you get bitten by a dog its your choice to take it to court and good on you . then they wont be laughing when the dog gets loose it will probably cost them a few hundred quid when they get found guilty .

It was me that notified my DOM that I was bitten and it was him that rang the police because my partner on the P/L round had been bitten a few weeks previous by the same dog.
My DOM had written them a letter to the people with the dogand said if it happens again he would notify the police which he did .
Since the police has been notified they have seen me and my P/L partner at our houses for statements but RM arent doing anything else.

As RM instigated the case, I'm certain you'll be paid. You may think they're not doing anything, and technically you're right, but they made the complaint, so they will pay you. Speak to your manager about it, if he says no pay, tell the court you can't attend and why, and RM will look like twats. Which would be entirely accurate.

you will find it will be the surnames of the posties v the surname of the dog owner in court not royal mail v the surname of the dog owner

The owner is pleading not guilt at the moment but that may change on the day as I was bitten in a public road and not on her property.
Police were surprised she is not pleading guilty but we shall see
