5 lots of d2d

i got in today on a 4 day week wed to sat and i had 5 lots of d2d and they took ages preparing what i needed to deliver so i would not complete i told the lino and they said there wasnt much on . they are pleading ingnorant to how may d2d you have .

I have a same sort of problem. It seems the word is its built in to workload. So when you only have one instead of 5 like this week I have to do the same amount of ips .Work that one out???
There is no way that you can cope without coming in early or dumping them.
I do not do the above! Just make them pay up in docket and laugh at the dims or if need be cut off.

Bringon, when did you inform the Lino that you could not complete. The correct time is when you have finished all of your indoor work, bagged up and ready to go. That way you are in a much better position to know whether you are likely to go over or not. It is then for the Lino to instruct you what to do. If he/she believes that you can complete within your hours, the next stage is for them to arrange a time towards the end of your contracted hours to call you and ascertain whether you are going to complete. If you are not going to complete then he/she must provide you with instructions as to where you should leave the surplus mail, be it bringing it back to the office or leaving it in a lock box for someone else to deliver. You must insist on these procedures taking place or you may be at risk of being done for wilful delay. If you can, get someone to witness your initial conversation with the Lino, then all the better. Don,t let the Lino fob you off with some loose remark that THERE ISN,T MUCH TO DO and insist that he follows procedures. You are also entitled to see a copy of the workload for your office/walk for that day before you go out and can then argue your case for the amount of D2Ds, Attended calls, etc etc to justify that the workload cannot be completed within the time you are allowed.

Answer here is simple guys. Fulltime you prep your own d2ds. To be fair they/we get paid a 40 hour allowance for it. Part timers should come in and they should be in the frame for them coming in. Part timers again get a lower rate shift allowance. And before any1 complains then ill add.... why should a part timer have to prep there own d2ds the same as a fulltimer and get paid less pro rata for doing the same thing?. Also it should be upto the guy or lass sorting the part timers frame to do the d2ds for part timer coming in.... 2ndly i dont agree with part time staff that work overtime in mornings preping duties should be made to prep d2ds for part time staff when they wont see the increse in d2ds payments. Yes they get overtime but if do the same hours as a fulltime in a week ,they wont get the extra d2d alloawance

Incorrect. Whether D2Ds are placed in a frame for a Part timer is not based on contract hours but whether they have sufficient indoor time to prep them. Its also up to the managers to identify who needs assistance and to delegate that task.

They don't get a lower rate delivery supplement they get exactly the same hourly rate as FT, but as they do less hours they naturally get less pay overall. They also deliver the same amount of letters and parcels as FTs do - perhaps they should be paid exactly the same as a FT despite doing less hours -in effect getting paid the same weekly wage for doing less hours

Yes they do thats why when they work beyond 39 hours there are 3 types payments on their pay chit, where as a FT will only have 2. The 2nd one (between contracted hours and 39) has a higher hourly payment than basic to account for the extra Delivery Supplement they are due. In fact there are any number of posts on here from PTs confirming exactly that.

YES they do see 1 quote above, its included in the hourly rate of pay between contract hours and over 39 hours.

yes about 100 of them but its just they say theres not much on but there is when your doing 5 lots of awkward d2d when they take ages to prep aswell

Door 2 door allowance????? There is no such thing......do you mean the delivery supplement?? If this is the money you are talking about, then it has nowt to do with d2d .Everyone receives this money ( pro rata), whether we get door to doors or not. So to use it as a deciding factor on who preps d2d is completely wrong.The full timer gets more delivery supplement based on his contract, and no other reason. It's time everyone got their head round the fact that we DO NOT GET ANY EXTRA MONEY for delivering d2d's.
