Or so she tells us in the courier and wtll,yet after the latest price restructuring it is cheaper to send anything over 2KG via Parcelforce48 when compared to our own 2c service!

I think the large parcels are down around 50% in the MC,although its early days yet.
Still seems a strange thing to do,although im sure they have a good reason for it......

Large parcels should be down 100% as we don't do large parcels anymore

Not true, RM will send as much work onto PF to build them up to sell them off for a bigger profit and then try to grab the workload back...........I can really see that working

I think if anything both RM & PF will loose work to other couriers

A parcels business yet our managers prioritise letters over packets. If we have to cut off the sorting, we're told to leave the packets and get the letters through..

Royal Mail deliver more parcels in a week then Parcel force deliver in a year. What has happened is Royal Mail have priced the larger parcels to such a price that it makes no sense to use Royal Mail. Mail Centres and RDCs will lose this traffic and so will firms and parcel deliveries.

Parcels small and medium seam to be down in my mail centre tonight! Very quiet! I feel we might have priced ourselves out!

Can't speak for the cities but PF do not deliver in rural areas now, they drop off a huge truck load of parcels of all sizes, shapes, weights and time sensitivity and poor old postie wedges them into a.clapped out old Combo because he has time 'cos mail volumes have dropped so much!
This will be rolled out everywhere we are told to fill our spare time.

I take it you all have received that courier special about RM parcel strategy? Definitely a parcel company. It says so. And we have been told umpteen times recently we are. Anyone else impressed that RM actually has a parcel strategy? Although, it does appear to be to lose as much work as possible as fast as they can.
