Really you should be out delivering at about 9.40 /9.45 to enable you to complete your walk for 2pm. [what time do you start delivery?]
Its highly unlikely that anybody can throw a walk in and do d2ds in approx. 1 hour and 45 mins. Have a word with you line manager. I would expect at the very least the walk sorted[trays] to be already in for you. Have a word with your Rep as well

I am on a 25 hour contract. ( 5 HR DAILY )

My walk sorted gets thrown in as does most of my IPS mail, I then do the packets, redirections, kill off's and bag up.

I also have time on a saturday to prep next weeks D2D's to make the next week easier.

I'm on a 24hour contract and start at 7.30. The first trays of sequenced are usually in by the time I start. The manager tried to stop this but then realised I'd be either booking more over time or cutting off so it gets done now 9 times out of ten. I put in the IPS, second batch of sequenced, packets and d2ds.

There is no simple answer to this.
It would depend upon your delivery span and the amount of mail the walk gets and the number of D2D contracts for any given week.

Basically, you are paid 1hr extra to prep all your walk; and this takes you to the traditionally 30-hour contract.

That was the case before Revision, 30-hours folk throw out all of the walk including the d2ds.

Actually, being on 25-hours is more advantageous if most of your walk is already thrown out... That if the walk is thrown out to a satisfactory level or what it is supposed to be - a few IPS stragglers left, packets and kill offs/redirections. Sadly, it is rarely the case.

One of our posties has actually gone down in hours because of this. We are post-revision and we have 32hrs and 27hrs contracts. 32-hrs are required to throw out everything but 27-hrs have most of the walk thrown out (much better than it used to be).

So 30 to 32 hours and 24 to 27.5 hours. A lot of the time, the 27.5-hrs are ready before the 32-hrs. The 32-hrs have got a raw deal - less than 30 minutes extra post-revision given more mail and d2ds...

You say you cover lots of different walks so you are never going to be throwing in walks as quickly as the regular walk holder. Many of our park and loop frames are a total nightmare to throw in with bits of Roads 'spattered' all over the shop.
Each situation is different but at the very least the sequenced mail would be expected to be in for you at the office I work in. Why should you be expected to leave after every one else if you have the same finish time?
what can you do about it? Sorry to say but it seems the only way things tend to get better is to point out / moan about it every time it happens. Human nature being what it is, if someones walk is not getting thrown in its going to the laid back guys.
By the way I've been their myself but the bitter taste is now a distant memory - please may it remain so.

Oh and D2d as well especially if its a bad week.

I can understand the mickey take. The managers always tend to take liberties with laid-back posties. It is often management by complaint and the real and persistent moaner often gets what they want.

Once you have been identified as easy-going, it might be hard to be seen otherwise; it is hard to change one's character anyways.

The managers gets bullied by their bosses and get bullied by some posties so they find others to bully as well...

Yes, we have posties at mine too on 32 hours that tend to get more than just the mech thrown out... It is unfair and fraudulent but that is Royal Mail. If you complain too loudly about your situation they and the manager will be the first to jump down your throat... because they know that if you succeed then their privileges might be be mentioned or even cut - God Forbid!
