is any one going in on royal mails new start times , because i dont want too , i feel if we do thats it, we have gave away our rights , ive been told too go in because it could be classed as un action , so is dave ward telling us to go in at 6:15 just need to no whats going on with that issue . :lfo

sadly you have to mate as it is in your contract that royal mail can change your start and finish times

how can our union tell everyone to go in to work at royal mails new starting times. we might as well go along with everything else that royal mail want.
has anyone at hq got the stomach for a fight if so tell billy to do one and call for an all out strike ffs and stop this lying down. i have never seen so much crap on that ltb telling everyone to comply with the new starting times. tell him to stuff it, hit the streets, just because the some clowns at hq say it will be unofficial, at least you will be sticking to your principles.

NO, NO .NO It is not your contract , go to the ACAS site ,check out employment law, contract of employment. All English law is based on precedent,there is custom and practise,reasonable expectation,and TRUST.Sorry Prestwick but please do not repeat RM bullshit [ or CWU bullshit]

Go in at your new start time,and finish at your new start time,you will get done otherwise.
It's not fair,but it has to be done till/if a deal is done.

I agree,It's not fair and it's not legal, and if the union does not object within a reasonable time period ,we will be deemed to have ACCEPTED it

This is a LEGAL aspect...these things take time.....I have no doubt that the LEGAL wing of the CWU will be examing the fine print.......WATCH THIS SPACE.....All is not lost upon this issue

but going in at there new start times , i just think that will be a done deal , its a joke but im not laughing , i have got to get home for my kids already in some delivery office in my area posties are leaving they have had enough ,leighton is a f------ass hole he is out to destroy royal mail , its such a shame because we have got alot of good posties and he is messing around with there lifes .

The advice that we got at yesterday's Union meeting.

Go in on the new start times (to stick to the original times could be classed as unofficial industrial action). If you have any problem (childcare, family commitments, etc) put in a grievence. If enough people do this then the DOM's will have a hard time causing grief for everyone else (they'll have to deal with all the grievences first)

There will be some people in each office who will actually prefer the new times, don't give them the grief for finding that the new times fit better into their work/life preferences.

the later start times are part of royal mails pay and modernisation proposals. this is part of the reason we are on strike just now therefor if your office hold a meeting and feel strongly against later starts and vote in favour of industrial action on this you need only give 7 days notice that you are starting or finishing 1, 2 hours early later or day off or whatever the office agrees too. bottom line you only need give 7 days notice as part of the i.a at the moment.

I work 11-1900 and i have been told from wednesday 10th october i will be on 14:30-22:30 that means my shift has moved by 3 1/2 hours it really stinks.
I have done 20 years and guys who have done 3 years are still on 11-1900

I was told i have to move because there is no work for me at 11am but my collection has been given to another driver

I have two kids who i will never see as they will be in bed when i come home, and my wife also works at wolves and is on earlies so she will be on her way home when i'm on the way to work.

Basically i will see kids 30 mins in morning tops and won't see wife monday to friday.

my manager said it will make my week ends better, i nearly punched him there and then the tosser.

im not the only one at wolves in this situation but to be honest our cwu reps are useless there :(
