RM have increased their prices from today. With the constant revision activity and the much later start and finish times, why are they still advertising and guaranteeing Special Delivery items by 1.00pm?

They should of changed the guarantee time of specials before 'modernisation'

But they knew that they could save on re-organising this as we could be harrassed into breaking off to deliver them by 1pm.

God knows what is going to happen if they track every packet/parcel??

Shows how stupid these people that run this company are, they should have three bands of special delivery each with its own range of prices, pre 9am band A, pre 1pm band B and next day band C, that way way the people who need just next day get a slightly cheaper rate, and that means less failures, and no breaking off to get them all delivered before 1pm.

Or 9 am as the case may be. IMHO we should drop the time element altogether and just have next day delivery. If you order something on line and pay a premium rate for NDD you don't get an option on time just the day and even that is flexible depending on what time you order it and which day in some instances.

The 1pm stays in order to keep up with our competitors apparently.
It would be interesting to know how many fail and how much compensation is paid out as a result.

no matter how many bands you put in they will just get the delivery or duty holder to do the lot no extra hours be put in for these bands

Why don't they just change it to 3pm? That's when we are supposed to be finishing by now. It's obvious innit?

Would only be a tempory fix, as start times get later so will the finishing times, in a few years we will be back to square one,either making it next day only, or the banding idea above is the only thing that will fix it once and for all.

maybe the higher cost is to make up for refunding postage on the items that do fail. because it's not like the cost of processing specials has gone up...unless we get a pay rise.

Tracking every parcel/packet is apparently the target, or at least, having the option to track any parcel/packet/letter using all RM products is. Think they want to take business off the likes of Hermes etc., though can't see RM competing on cost.

It just can't work operationally, once more an idea from an idiot in an ivory tower who is expecting a large reward for his wonderful idea.
