Is it true that the packets and parcels handled and delivered by Royal Mail are to be passed to Parcelforce for delivery from next month? This is news I heard from a manager this afternoon. If it is true the union certainly have been quiet about it.

Larger packets are moving to ParcelForce but it's anything bigger than 610mm x 460mm x 460mm which is a very big shoe box.

I assume its just stuff that comes out the PO, which does make a fair % of the parcel drivers workload!

i thought royal mail was changing to a parcel company that manages the decline in letters
and also delivers competitors mail for them
well if the parcels bigger than shoe boxes go to parcelforce
royal mail will have to managed the decline in parcels too

They are trying to grow parcelforce as fast as possible so they can privatise it. Parcelforce will be floated/sold to private investors (not merged or sold to another courier company) within 18 months in my opinion
