Cycle to work scheme

Anyone on here taken advantage of the cycle to work scheme that RM offers? Is it worth it and do you get to keep the bike after the 72 weekly payments?

Definitely worth it. Only downside is that you have to use Halfords (unless it's changed since last November). Get the bike serviced at a proper bike shop!

Check in store for prices at halfords, online prices sometimes differ, had my heart set on a bike on sale went in store and it wasn't on sale. Luckily a member or staff phoned cycle 2 work for me and got permission to price match =)

Just picked up my new bike this weekend! Deffo worth it, hardly notice the money as its before tax, so works out at about £3.70 a week.

defo worth it get a £500 quid bike you gain an extra 10% off with Halfords....total savings around £160 quid...the certificate (coa) is valid I think for 5 week from issue to claim your bike from Halfords...so it's sometimes best to wait for a sale ...and get more for your money.....look at the offers in Halfords 3 for 2 etc theres a Carrera bike offer on at the mo ...on my second bike ..I can highly recommend the voodoo marissa hybrid ....good bike...get in before it go's

Several guys at our ofice have used the scheme, ranging from £100 basic bikes just for getting to work to £500 road bikes. Being Halfords, choice is a bit limited in range and quality, although you can use other suppliers - there is a list available online, they only exclude other bike supermarket and website firms own brand ranges. Financially it is a good deal - if you are seriously into cycling, less so.

I got a £350 road bike that I would not have been able to buy at the time. Looking back, I should have done some more overtime and saved up and bought the bike that I actually wanted ( which was £600!), rather than the one I could get under the scheme.

Go in and ask your local shops, I did and the best one in town took the Halfords voucher, and they let me pay some extra on top as £500 wasn't enough for what I was after.
