We have broken through the 800 mark on the number of delivery offices fully modernised

It’s a terrific achievement, with a further 29 offices improving indoor efficiency and introducing new equipment and route changes to better deliver the changing mail mix of fewer letters and more parcels last week.

This bodes well for the financial year ahead when we aim to complete the majority of the delivery element of the modernisation programme and achieve the benefits,’ said Ian Jones, programme director, Operations modernisation.

‘Thank you and well done to everyone involved,’ he added.

There was further good news on the automation front in the latest week with a record high of 95% being recorded on the proportion of letters being sorted through our automation equipment.

This in turn has allowed us to increase the amount of letter mail automatically sequenced to delivery order up to 79% - almost eight out of every 10 letters that we process.

Ps the service is getting worse since modernisation .people cutting off bringing mail back,when it use to get all delivered before modernisation

we may (on paper ) be fully modernised but mgmt all over west of scotland
1 encourage people not to use trolleys
still people doing 4.5 hr deliv with bags over shoulder mgmt state they DONT see a problem with this
2 encourage people not to take meal relief of 20mins minimum
turn a blind eye to people leaving office before due time out
3 refuse to advise of return to office of all staff to encourage job and finish
NB. WEST OF SCOTLAND working to job and finish for over 50 % of staff
pda,s dont always get returned, vans get swapped between ft/pt on return to office to let some go home early
not the same person who signs out van .
so they may say we are modernised but only to a degree that suits them

There may be 800 office 'fully modernised', but how many of those are actually working correctly? But then, I suppose saying they have 800 offices signed off but X amount with a massive amount of problems, doesn't sound as good. You only have to read threads on here to see the issues. People starting early/finishing late, and not always being paid o/t. Mass cut offs, b&h through the roof as bosses try the only way they know to get the job done. More propaganda as far as I'm concerned, possibly aimed at encouraging 'outside investment'.

Well that total puts a whole new light on BT2010 it's taken 3 years to do half the delivery offices, quite an achievement. I believe one of the posters on here who shall remain nameless said the total was 800 some six months ago - I think the information came from the CWU via Royal Mails CWU Propaganda Department, pretty much where all the information put out by the CWU comes from. Can't wait to hear what the passes as an explanation for a poor pay rise.

The CMA (the Managers union ) is part of that - no thanks would get too messy if the CWU part of Unite took action against the B&H of one group of Unite members against the CMA part, Unite would be scrambling like mad to play it down, or make it go away.

i go to a d. o to pick up collection mail, recently gone live into dly methods revision. 2 old boys come in at 545, proper time 630, still there at 1730, don't book a minute. managers must laugh all the way to the bank.
