Day in lieu???

I'm on a 25 hour contract which I normally work over 5 days. This week I have been told I need to work my contracted hours over 3 days (having Monday and Tuesday as days off and Friday as the bank holiday). This was apparently due to the office being over staffed as so few people had booked holiday leave for this week. Although a little annoying, I initially thought that a 3 day week was mainly in my favour.

However, it has since occured to me that doing my full contracted hours has meant I have not benefitted from the bank holiday. Most other staff memebers have either had the bank holiday as their day off, thus earning a day in lieu, or have had a day off as well, thus doing less than their contracted hours but getting paid in full.

Is this a loophole or have I been screwed over? I'm struggling to get my head around it but was hoping someone could give some insight into this!

no body works their full contracted hours this week unless their day off is good friday then they are owed the day in lieu

You have been royally shafted. Don't stand for it. Ask for an explanation, copies of any agreements they claim allows it. See the Rep. It's just plain wrong.

no if you had 30 days that's 7.5 weeks leave on a 4 day week
