Transfer request

Hi all,

Seeking a little advice on how easy it is or isn't as the case maybe to secure a transfer to another DO. I'm full time with 9 years service, currently based at a rural office in the dales, I am looking for a move to the York area. I'm guessing I'd have more chance of winning the lottery than transferring to a similar rural office but if anyone on here could shed some light on the idea it would be very much appreciated

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Best advice is to pop into the office you want to transfer to and speak to the manager.

However, you probably can't guarantee full time hours, even if you are on them already, and York MC is either closing or has already, (Certainly 2C has been moved to Leeds already) and therefore any chance to move is probably fairly limited with the displaced MC staff getting priority first.

Thanks for that TrueBlueTerrier, good point about York MC closing, they will no doubt get first refusal of any spare vacancies. I'll definitely try and get in contact with the manager at the office I'm looking to transfer to though, cheers!!

getting me worried now. I'm thinking of going for a transfer to a big delivery office, I'm full time, would I get a full time transfer?
