Signed for new duty. Better one has come available.

Hi all.

Signed for driving duty 3 weeks ago. A better driving duty has come available but line manager is saying I can't sign for it as I have to stay on duty for 6 months.
Been working for royal fail for 13 years never have heard of this before.
I've heard about you can't go back on the duty you have left for 6 months.
Any help

I am checking but I thought that if you signed for a vacant duty outside of a revision then you had to stay on that duty for a minimum of 12 months.

There are 3 scenarios as per the way forward...
1:Bob has left and you want his duty,technically it's 12 months before you can sign for it as you've just signed for one.
2:Bob has left,the screw does not have to put it up for signing for 6 months.
3:Bob has left 3 weeks after your revision,yes you can sign for it,unless the screw goes for the 6 month thing.

One of the main reasons for seniority based repicks is to bring stability to an office.
Having members jumping about from duty to duty and the resultant vacancies that would bring doesn't sound very stable.
That's why the 12 and 6 months rules are there.

Would like to see an office that is stable. If royal fail want a stable office they would employ enough staff to cover all duties.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility that they can't wait to get away from the boss. It's the only time I ever move at speed, when a manager approaches, I dash off.

in ours you need 25 yrs for a good driving duty

If the duties were designed properly they would all be equal ish.Therefore i personally would be quite happy to stay put.But having witnessed the way these revisions are pushed in (Executive Action) its not surprising they cause so much Bullying these failed Postpersons sorry incompetant managers are worse than useless.This company would run without these clowns playing management get rid now
