usually its a 1/6 a day but due to bank holiday its 1/5 a day .
why should I take the extra D2D's because of the bank holiday as friday is my usual day off

As Fishtank said, you will see extra workload for everything on weeks like this, cramming 6 days mail into 5 days. I certainly had a killer day today for a Monday!
But as regards the D2D, there are "shady" ways of circum-navigating the extra workload, if you are a cover and not the main duty holder. For example, prepping the extra D2D into the section that would have been delivered by the "assistance crew" (who deliver a set section of a walk daily, even though the main walk will still go over if done properly) on Friday in we did not have a bank holiday.
But as regards the D2D, there are "shady" ways of circum-navigating the extra workload, if you are a cover and not the main duty holder. I wonder if it's going to be a permanent thing that you could pick in a resign.

Years ago we got paid good money for Good Friday if they expect me to do Fridays work without the good money they are sadly mistaken and are deluding themselves!.
