We have been given our have your say surveys to fill in and return. We are only a small office but like most other offices have had loads of s**t put on us.
As an office we have tried to put our points across, but it has gone on deaf ears.The union have also been an absolute waste of time as well.
If the whole office does'nt send any of them back will it flag it up higher up?
We have a deputy dom who has just started to listen and start implementing changes that is good for the office but he is now off after 2 months and we get about our 6th manager in a year. Is there a protocol if none are returned?

Yes, it will be flagged up. Our manager wants a high return... I wanted to send off mine by post but was refused. But was told we have to stay and fill in during WTLL but we do not have to write anything...

So the best form of protest is to collectively have 'no opinion' - send them back blank - that should also be flagged up without individual or collective recriminations.

How does not sending your form get attention? If you fill it out and highlight any problems by using the form then....you get the attention needed. Get all your guys to highlight problems by using the form.

they're more interested in a high turnout, they give you a prepaid envelope so tell your DOM you are filling it in at home.
The DOM's are being pressured from above to get them filled in, that was from the horses mouth

Don't fill them in, nothing ever gets done when you do fill them in so you may as well not.

We done ours in the office on fri when the snow was bad few the lads just drew c@@@ on thers. How childish

Yes but even when the forms have been filled out RM never takes any notice of them anyway so what is the point, just a propoganda exercise, last 3 years i have filled out these forms and highlighted all the problems in our office and nationaly but has anything changed....NO!

It is important to fill in the forms.. If you do and a patern forms then at least there is some hope (maybe not much).. but if you ignore; then what happens.

I always fill my form in. But, as others have said, nothing ever happens. At least if no one returns them, it does get flagged up and some attention is paid to the office/department in question. Take the last one I did, there were recurring themes flagged, a total of 4. So, my manager did some paperwork, put up notices, and said these particular issues would be addressed within 4 weeks. That was in June last year. And putting up notices is as far as he got. Zero has happened since then. We haven't even discussed any of it during WTLL sessions.

There was one instance, however, when something did happen as a result of these surveys. A few years ago, can't remember exactly when, my unit hit a target/alarm on bullying & harrassment, so a dedicated team came in. We were to be interviewed, and we assured that the culprit would be dealt with. They did about 10 or 12 interviews, about a third of my unit, and the same name cropped up every time. The DOM. And guess what. They left, it was swept under the carpet, and nothing has happened at all. If that had been an OPG, they would have been suspended and disciplined, probably sacked, within 2 weeks. And they wonder why they have such a low response rate. I don't know if I'll bother this time.

What they truly want, is for us to fill in the surveys, but only in a positive manner so they can say they're doing all they can to involve us, without actually having to put any effort into dealing with the, quite serious, issues we raise.
