Delivering all mail well and getting paid properly for what we do is key. We will be delivering letters for many years to come.

It’s important that we deliver all mail well, including Access mail.

We’re making money on Access mail. We made £80 million on Access mail in 2011-12 (after modernisation before other exceptional costs).

Access mail was loss-making. But we turned that around. We made necessary price rises. And we secured a new regulatory framework that allows us to price on a more commercial basis.

We are:
•Fully committed to deliver all of the mail entrusted to us under Access contracts.
•One in two of all the letters we handle is Access mail.
•All of our customers’ mail is important to us and needs to be delivered.
•It is vital for Royal Mail and the Universal Service that we provide the high quality delivery service that our customers deserve and expect.
