Do you receive overtime for doing D2D's?

Sorry I'm sure this is a question asked time and time again... I used the search function to no avail.

Do you receive overtime for doing D2D's. or is it covered buy the extras we get?

If a heavy week of D2ds mean that you cannot finish on time and you are prepared to extend then you will/should be paid overtime. It is not just the D2ds that the overtime will be paid for, but the fact that the accumulation of all mail, ie letters, flats, parcels, D2ds mean that you are unable to complete within your normal hours.

i do overtime regularly. if they are puyt in the frame i will take them but ensure i tell the dom i am taking them as it would make it a later finish. if they arent then i dony bother.

d2ds are part of the daily workload and should be spread over the week. They should be prepped and delivered each day.
In the past d2d has been seen as almost "optional" work which can be done "if i have time" although this was never really the case it was the attitude of many.
This work needs to be done in the correct manner, if you feel you wont be able to complete because youre already late going out and still havent prepped d2d items, it doesnt matter, you should still prep and take out the correct amount of d2ds for that particular day, if this makes you either cut off or need you to do OT then so be it, inform the manager of this before you leave the office.

You get paid for the hours you work, if you think you're going to over inform your boss before going out. D2D's are, since 2010, part of the normal workload to be done within your duty time.

D2D's are merely unaddressed mail and should be treated as part of the normal delivery workload. No more and no less important than 1st Class, 2nd Class, Mailsort, DSA, Recorded, Special or any other item you care to name. If you have cannot complete on time it's not "because of D2D's" but because there's too much on in total.

There is no separate payment for D2D's and there is no obligation on you to complete them separately in your own time. Any manager who tells you otherwise is either misinformed, incompetent or an outright liar. Usually a mixture of all 3.

A little pedantic in your response . If you read most of DGPs responses on D2D he is quite aware that we are paid doing them in our contracted pay - his response which you quoted was, I think, reiterating that we do not get paid any extra for doing them, a lot of posties still believe that the sole reason for the delivery supplement is for delivering D2Ds.

Ah so my manager has been lying to me then... came in just on time and said if he wanted me to do the D2D's I would put in overtime... He said that you get paid separately for doing D2D's...

Why do they feel the need to lie. Could be such a simple, easy and relativity enjoyable job.

Once mailsort and 2c reaches the inward MC it becomes first class. The difference from a MC pov is that 2C gets sent from the outward MC to the inward MC the next day by road, 1C gets sent out the same day as posted (some by road, some by air). Mailsort arrives at the inward MC the day before delivery is due so say it arrives during the day on Monday, it'll be sent out to the DOs on the Monday night and be due for delivery on the Tuesday.

The "pecking" order is basically:

Specials > Tracked > Everything else

If you can't complete on time, just cut off

Yeah it's called "The 2010 Agreement", thats when D2D's were put into the workload,and the delivery supplement was introduced.

My apologies. I Wasn't intending to be pedantic just merely misunderstood the tone. There's generally a lot in our office who bleat this line in the spirit I wrongly took DGP's response.
