Day off falls on bank holiday

My day off falls on Easter Bank holiday Monday.
What are my rights regarding this as last year my day off fell on a bank holiday and was swizzed out of it.
If I had a choice I would take 8 hours Overtime.

Your entitled to day in lieu. Don't let your DOM steal it. Speak to HR if you need back up

You have three choices :
Day in lieu
Day's pay
or have another day off during week or following (if they can cover you).

we still claim it where i am.got it twice last year.by the way you can request another day off the SAME week and you should get one,whether they can cover your duty or not but you have to take any day they offer.

Where a rest day falls on a bank holiday (i.e. 26, 27 December or 2 January, plus 3 Jan in Scotland) and it is not operationally sensible to transfer the rest day to another day in the same week people will receive an additional day holiday (including those working ‘a week off in six’ or other variations on this theme) in the form of a day in lieu or alternatively the excess hours can be taken as normal overtime

Oh yes! I have copped it again!!

This time I will also go for the payment. I still have not taken the ones from xmas and new year but no slots to take them as holidays.

And he's correct, it gets added to your annual leave..............so you can't get them at a later date :wink:

This has always been the same at my office. I am in the same boat and could do with an extra days pay. :sad:
