just a letter over a 6 weeks ago saying they would look into my question and get back to me then nothing and no reply to my next 2 letters

Send another email, get sending, don't give up.

They will respond it may take some time ... I am aware of someone who contacted through this route they received a similar response .... Then 2 months later they received a response detailing investigations into issues raised and actions put in place to resolve the issues raised (at a high level).

Well if you want to make a trip to Manchester she is having an open house tomorrow at 11 am - all invited but you need to ask your DOM and submit your question to him to be vetted prior to being allowed to go. I'm not going, though asking her out on a date didn't seem to be offensive to me, though I did say she'd have to put out if I paid
