Are the majority of offices that have had revisions using CDV's? What vans are you using? Sorry for the vagueness of the questions but hopefully all will become apparent when there have been a few responses.

Originally we were supplied with Bippers but we kept hold of our old combo's and Connects,most of our LDV's went including my old Pilot.
Our Bippers are now slowly being replaced by the next size up,the Partner because the Bipper is too small.
All of our duties are van based now.

Its a stupid rule really and would be much more sensible and easier to understand if it went by weight alone. I don't think we have any CDVs though as those are the ones which are literally just the standard car with the rear windows blocked up and rear seats taken out. The combo is based on the corsa but it is still a different body so can't really be considered a CDV

So why do RM keep mentioning CDV's in the revisions?

I just think they like using acronyms. Must be convinced it's more official sounding or confusing to us. Most of the CDV's we use are actually originally designed as vans, i.e. not derived from any other vehicle.

I only bought this subject up because Speeding Tickets are appearing. Now the LM's are putting stickers in the vans showing speed limits and leaving the OPG to pick up the bill for the fines.

True, but the speed limit for Bippers is 50mph on A roads, and 60mph on dual carriageways.

difference is mainly down to laden weight not exceeding 2 tonnes and single carriage roads - thats the bit the cause confusion. Then you have to take into account the weight of 2 people and 10 - 20 8kg bags and 2 trolleys and excess packets - if you have a proper CDV under 2 tonnes laden you'd need a calculator everyday to make sure you are not breaking the law on weight - no thanks. If they are not CDVs and are vans then different speed limits apply.
