How long can these failed revisions go on?

Im amazed that after so long in place some revisions are still failing. Ours has been in for 8 months and even up to Saturday 6 or so shared van routes left ALL packets as well as 4 hct duties. Others left or came back with loops whilst the ones who stayed out did so for at least an hour longer than spans are meant to be. Local rep disagreed at most stages that these were wrong but was over ruled by higher people both in rm and cwu to implement it. The amount of s**t that we have to put up with from managers on a daily basis just to finish on time is unbearable. Anyone any idea what the union plans to do about these offices as it will end up with someone hitting a manager and an office walk out.

8 months isnt long mate ours nearly 2 yrs and still nowhere near trolleys not being used/people coming in early managers turning a blind eye with their heads in the clouds ect ect yet in the courier everything seems hunky dorie not the imppression i get on here

we had are park and loop for over 2 years now and we still fail 3 out of 6 days
we have not had resign yet management love it they pick who goes on what duty someone made a complaint to the area rep and nothing happened

Can RM go back to the old way and reverse the PandL revisions? I dont know if they could. I think its almost irreversable without a sh*tload of costs/money

its a complete shambles, is it any wonder rm is getting sold. privatisation will bring a new system in anything is better than rm clueless ideas like p&l

I can't see how privatisation would improve things considering the management structure is likely to remain the same.
The only difference is that they will be accountable to shareholders so it will be clueless idea followed by cuts to pay for the clueless idea and cuts to pay the shareholder dividends.

Whats the betting that a privatised RM will suddenly find their 'green credentials' and put most delivery OPGs on bikes?

I still fail to see how P&L is more efficient/cost effective than bikes bearing in mind, from my experience, that large packets, (sorry medium size parcels!), are still delivered from my old office by dedicated packet duty drivers.

I don't know if it's the same for other offices, but all those P&L vans with their ongoing costs MUST be costing a fortune, not to mention the casuals that have to be used every Wed/Thur/Fri and Sat.

Am I missing something?

We have more packets runs in the morning than ever before. About 6 to 8 people are going out early to clear packets for the shared van routes as they can't cope.

Ours has been in 18 months and still does not work.
Loops left in every day (26 last thurs)
Parcels getting left.
Major conflict on a daily basis with people only wanting to work there time.
Lies, bullshit, bullying and harassment just to try and get the office clear.

Same in our office, people starting well before their time, not using the right equipment, still carrying bags on shoulders, not taking meal breaks, running round the deliveries, the list is endless. Nothing will ever be sorted until the job is done properly by everyone and we know that will never happen. The members are their own worst enemies.

Well i just work my hours. Very stress-free imo. What i cant deliver that day goes back into the frame when we return. No problem and long may it continue.

I believe that the fundamental principles of P&L are wrong and a radical change in the planning of outdoor work is needed.

To successfully implement delivery revisions you need skilled planners, planning tools that are fit for purpose, realistic targets and above all you need to listen and react to the views of people that actually do the job. This would take time and money and a proactive forward thinking management who consider the welfare of the staff and the will to actually complete this task correctly ...

It's not all down to RM as the Govt know pretty much everything that is happening and so long as privatisation goes smoothly that is all that concerns them.

It's simple these revisions go on because of the same old problems we have always had. Just do the delivery properly using the required equipment come back ON TIME!!!!!. I deliver from a different office from the delivery office where I live, My office has people that run round, come in early, chuck hds in before time, go to pub or golf course after running round then joke with managers ,The delivery office that delivers to where I live does the same thing I have been in this buisness for some time and been to other offices and seen the same thing there as well. OK so lets try again it's like hitting your head against a wall 1 COME IN ON TIME 2 DO THE JOB PROPERLY 3 INFORM LINE MANAGER BEFORE YOU GO OUT WILL FINISH ON TIME 4 COME BACK ON TIME. Now it's up to you keep coming in early and or run round and wave good bye to your job it's that simple END OF.
