Hi I am thinking of reducing my hours from 39 to 32 due to an injury. I was just wondering if anybody could give me an idea of what pay I will be losing each week?

I'm on a 32hr contract and the difference between that and if I work 39 hrs is about £60.

Work out how much you get paid per hour. Times it by 32 = how much you get paid with less hours.
You can find out how much tax you'll pay by using a tax calculator web-site.

I hear your new DIM is right up himself.

The reduced pay is offset by increased Child/Working Tax Credits if you get them . Universal Credits might spoil the party soon, though.

Its plantar faciitis, its a common problem with people who do a lot of walking or standing on their feet

I just wonder if reducing the hours is the best solution. There is treatment for it of course but having reduced hours may only be a temporary solution because working less may help at first but then the pain may recur and keep reducing hours is not really an option I would have thought.

dvb has a point if you reduce your hours from 39 to 32 you will only be doing less indoor work but will still have to do a full delivery

i am back at work and have been doing the duty for the last couple of weeks that i would be doing if i dropped to 32hrs and iv been managing ok with it. I have been told that my plantar fasciitis will come back, and they have made our shared van rounds so big that people were working until 6pm last week. I know it would definatley come back if i went back to doing this

You must of course do whatever is best for you and if the condition is likely to recur then there is the happenstance that the discomfort would be the same. There is of course the drop in pension contributions and thereby the pension. I'm sure you have taken all these factors into account and good luck.
